| ELYSIUM ANNOUNCES FEATURE-BASED TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGY
Feature-Based Translation Technology Announced at NDES SOUTHFIELD, MI, March 3, 2003 — Elysium Inc., a leading global provider of digital design data exchange software, today announced its feature-based translation (FBT) technology at this year’s National Design Engineering Show (NDES). FBT provides the technology to translate a CAD model’s design intent, features and parameters from one CAD system to another. In addition to creating 3D geometric models, each CAD system has a feature tree that, until now, could not be translated between dissimilar systems. Elysium’s new feature-based translation technology enables engineers to translate both geometric model data, and the valuable individual feature information as well as design intent. Elysium is committed to enhancing the FBT technology for additional MCAD applications. “As the CAD industry continues to evolve, users are seeing the need to get more than just geometric data to translate between systems,” said Abdul Shammaa, Chief Technology Officer, Elysium Inc. “Elysium has developed a technology that makes it possible to translate the features of one CAD system to another. An engineer can manipulate the translated CAD file as though it was created in the receiving system. Modifications to the file’s original design intent and features can be made – something previously unavailable in traditional translation methods.
